Home > HOA > Some Changes

As many of our neighbors are aware, a version of this site was created back in 2011 when I moved into Sorano. This site’s initial focus was to bring attention to the issues facing our new community, as we existed under a Developer-controlled HOA, and was managed by a (somewhat) hostile property management company.

In 2015 I joined the board as the homeowner representative, and upon the closing of the last property previously owned by First Texas Homes in early 2017, I took great pleasure in asking the two developer representatives to resign, and then appoint two other homeowners to the board on March 6, 2017. The board, based on the governing documents increased to five (5) members at the 2017 Annual Meeting, and two additional board members joined the board at that time.

Over the course of that time, this website has remained resident controlled and has never represented itself as the official HOA website, though this was discussed by the board in 2021. In hindsight, this was a good decision.

After serving eight (8) years on the board, I was thankful to take a step back and welcome a new board whose commitment was to serving our community.

With that understanding, this site will return to its initial focus moving forward and will be used to share insights and issues facing our community. This site will remain resident controlled without influence from the HOA Board, and will be open to residents and homeowners.
